Pr. Report: Visited homebound members. Lead church services. Due to health issues of both Pr. and Carolyn; Pr. Fred is requesting that ILC begin a call committee. As of today he will continue through August as Pr., but will retire at that time. On the LCMC Website there are options of pastors seeking a church to serve. Lynne will put a request for members interested in being on the Call Committee to speak with a council member. The Constitution of Immanuel Lutheran Church needs to be updated before we can call a pastor. Discussion was made of some options for leading services as needed.
Worship Committee: 7pm will be time for Lenten services. Ash Wednesday is 2/22/23 followed by 6 Wednesday services, then Holy Week. Easter is April 9th with that service being 8am followed by brunch. Coffee and light lunch will be served after the Wednesday evening Lenten services by Youth Group. Leann & Sheryl will help make coffee. Katie Ask & Heather will play piano when needed.
Education Committee: FROG will make Easter crafts for either the Season's in Trimont or Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn. They alternate between them.
Youth are planning a 2 night stay for their trip this year without a destination chosen at this time. Also plan to assist with cleanup at Ingham Lake Bible Camp.
Confirmation: Discussed the goals for the students to be ready for Confirmation. Those goals chosen are to know the Lord's Prayer, the Ten Commandments. Sermon notes were discussed as to how and why they are a criteria for Confirmation.
VBS: July 22-25, 2024 will sign for a team from Ingham Lake Okoboji, Dale will contact Kristin Rienhardt. For 2023 there are no openings with them. On SOLA there are VBS programs available. Moses and the Great Escape was chosen and ordered tonight. Dates for VBS 2023 will be July 31 thru August 3 from 5:30-8pm.
Evangelism Committee: Dale or Heather will pick up baby bottles to raise funds for Cherish House that congregation members can fill with cash.
Stewardship Committee: Nothing at this time.
Maintenance Committee: Touch ups to the paint continue. North windows in the basement will need painting done during the summer.
New Business: Baccalaureate. Pr. will check at the next MCW Ministerial meeting if it is planned for this spring and volunteer ILC if none is planned. Rewrite the Constitution by call committee. Possible Baptisms, Pr. will speak with the family. Suggested that ILC do a blessing of Heather as a new member.
Old Business: John Danielson Estate lawyer communicated that there will be a memorial of $5,000 possibly in March.
